Marty vs. SynergySuite: Cash Controls and Exception Ownership
SynergySuite supports operational workflows across inventory, labor and cash management. Marty is a managed profit-control layer that works with the systems you already use. The distinction to assess is the managed routine around a problem: finding it, assigning it, following up and checking the result.
Marty focuses on U.S. restaurant groups with 5–50 locations and $10M–$100M in revenue, led by an owner, COO, CFO, controller or operating partner who needs less manual chasing across locations.
What SynergySuite documents
SynergySuite presents a modular restaurant operations platform spanning inventory, purchasing, labor, reporting, food safety and cash management. Its reporting description includes proactive alerts and real-time sales data. SynergySuite product overview.
Its cash module documents reconciliation, digital sign-offs, deposit references and configurable notifications for policy exceptions or cash variances. Describing the product as unable to alert managers would be inaccurate. SynergySuite cash management.
Confirm the selected modules, configuration, data connections and price in your proposal. A broad platform page is not a statement that every capability is included in every account.
Where the managed routine fits
The Review is intended to explain cash and profit issues across your locations using supporting evidence. You receive findings ranked by dollars and location, an owner and recommended action, and a 30-day plan reviewed with leadership.
If your existing systems already contain the necessary records, the question becomes whether your team can turn them into a reliable diagnosis and completed actions. A Review may be relevant when that work is incomplete. It does not replace operational workflows such as taking inventory or preparing deposits.
Compare the cash workflow
| Step | SynergySuite cash module | Marty service responsibility |
|---|---|---|
| Count and record | Digital cash sheets and counts | Restaurant staff continue performing physical cash controls |
| Reconcile and approve | Drawer reconciliation and manager sign-off | Review examines available evidence for supported issues |
| Alert | Configurable policy/variance notifications | Optional service monitors agreed controls and alerts the responsible manager |
| Trace deposits | Deposit and sign-off audit details | Investigate the agreed cash question using accessible supporting records |
| Resolve and verify | Staff must perform the operational response; define who checks it | Assign action, follow up, escalate missed steps and verify evidence in the optional service |
The product column is based on SynergySuite's cash-module documentation. It is not a claim that all modules are included in every contract.
Hypothetical choice: if cash counts, sign-offs and alerts are working and finance resolves each mismatch, another service may add little. If evidence exists but unresolved items persist across locations, assess managed follow-through. If staff are not counting cash, fix that source process first; a service cannot verify records that were never created.
No current numeric SynergySuite quote is verified here. Obtain its selected-module and implementation price. Marty confirms the Review flat fee first and scopes optional continuation separately. Data access and cadence between the products remain setup-specific, not established compatibility.
Use the cash-reconciliation workflow to define what evidence closes a deposit mismatch before commissioning additional follow-through.
Keep the systems that work
If SynergySuite supports your daily workflows, do not assume you must replace it to review your business. Confirm the records available for a Marty Review and the agreed read-only access. Compatibility and cadence should be established for your actual setup.
Price the operational software and the diagnostic work against their respective scope. Do not treat an unverified starting price or an unsupported savings promise as the basis for the decision.

Put the findings to work
Keep daily cash controls in place and assign responsibility for unresolved exceptions. Marty is a managed profit-control layer using Find → Assign → Follow up → Verify. Its paid 7-Day Cash & Profit Review establishes the baseline; optional Managed Profit Control monitors agreed controls, alerts managers, follows up, escalates missed actions and verifies results.
